Blue

Long enamored of black and white, my wife and collaborator has been working on a series of food shots featuring not food so much as the color of food. If you like her work, let her know or have a look at her gallery at ruhlmanphotography.com.

Update: In response to a comment below, Donna says she can make available reasonably priced 11×14 prints of this photo or any of her shots on her site. Email her there or send me an email via the above contact tab, and one of us will get back to you next week.

I’m on vacation from now until Monday, April 4.  Until then, check back in here every other weekday for another of Donna’s photos.

As ever, I’m grateful to all who come to this site, especially those who comment and keep the conversation lively! Thank you!

I was wondering what the blue photo would depict, since I have always heard that there are no naturally blue foods. Great picture.

I’d love to get the entire series in a smaller format for a grouping in my kitchen.

Nice photo. Regarding blue food – a word from George Carlin on the subject… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l04dn8Msm-Y

Not what I was expecting at all for blue – I love it!

you catch a certain sensuousness in your photos: at first I thought it was evident in your food photos because food in a sense is very sensuous…but I see it in these editions of color which are not just food related…they are really pleasurable to view for long periods of time. Nice

I’m really enjoying these; it was a great idea. Thank you Donna and Michael. Hope you are having a great vacation! Diane Cerra

I agree @Natalie, Donna’s work is sensuous. I find I become hypnotized to the ordinary objects in her photographs because of the way she captures them.

You should see her portrait work.
